Ho-hum Housework- a short post

Housework isn't particularly difficult, but it is so monotonous and tedious and I'm just sick of it. I want a RESET button. I think it was my friend Sonja who introduced me to the the magical reset button. The one that's hidden somewhere in your house and you just push that little button and "Bzzzzt!" it's all done. The laundry is all washed, folded, and put away. Every dish is in the cupboard. The toys are decluttered and neat. The floor is mopped, carpet vacuumed, sinks and counters wiped down, windows sparkling, wall smudges gone, bathrooms shine with polished toilets, fixtures, and shower walls. You open the door and the home is airy and fresh and clean. Not just the entryway or front room, but as you travel from room to room to room it is all lovingly in order with no piles anywhere.

I need to stop fantasizing about the button.

Jason fantasizes about the Lottery. I guess to relieve him of financial burdens. I fantasize about this button.

my magic button is named "mother-in-law." When I sub and she comes to watch Steiger, she cleans. At first I was embarrassed, now I'm just grateful.

The bad part is that it lasts until Steiger wakes up from his nap and Jay gets home.

I'm so jealous! But I'm happy for you too. I wouldn't begrudge anyone a magical button.

His lottery fantasy can get you your button fantasy, except it'd be called a full time housekeeper ; )
I want a button too... or a robot like The Jetsons had.

Meh! I hate cleaning, but I hate having a messy home. I want that button.

@Iris- that's one thing I admire about you. You're really good at doing the things you need to do whether you want to do them or not. For example, the way you exercise and eat right even though you have cravings and want to be lazy. I think that is a very good character quality!

Thanks Jamie. I really do try, but not every day is perfect. I apologize to Gerardo some days when he comes home from work and the house is upside down. Thankfully, he doesn't care too much. All I can say is, never pay me a surprise visit LOL! ^__^

I try not to cringe each week when I see the cleaning lady crew (like 4 ladies!) pull up to my neighbor's house and clean it while they are working. And yes, every WEEK!! And their house is always perfect and smells wonderful. BUT my neighbors don't have kids yet. They are newlyweds!! Freakin Dinks! So there you go. (But they are such nice people so I can't hate them too much!)

I guess that is what 2 full-time career salaries will get you - a cleaning crew!

wow. Cleaning crew every week PLUS no kids messing it all up? That hardly seems fair.

Now, I grant special exemptions to seniors. I figure once you've raised your kids and worked your whole life, if you want someone to come every week and clean your house then so be it!

I want one of those too! I love the way you write Jamie you're so good with words.

As to your question on my blog, I just sprayed the glass with the chalk board paint. You don't need anything extra.
